Auckland International Airport (AKL) - Guide to Auckland (AKL) Airport

Auckland International Airport is situated 13 miles southwest of the city centre. Motorway links connect it to the city and all modern facilities are present here including car hire, medical service and on-site hotels.

Several bus services are available to get you around Auckland. Stagecoach Auckland buses mostly depart from the Britomart Centre, while Connex Auckland has a smaller scale commuter service to the suburbs. Tourists may like to try the Explorer Bus, which offers tours of the city. Fullers operate a ferry service that connects Quay Street terminal with the suburbs.

Taxis can be stopped on the street or booked in advance and are metered. Cars, mopeds and bicycles can be hired from various locations in Auckland. Cyclists will be pleased to know that there is a 30-mile route specially set aside for cyclists to get around the city and the waterfront area.
